Late summer trial results

Its been a busy summer for us and haven't had time to post an update.

Fowler completed his Master Hunt title in 6 straight passes! He is now in a new home doing tons of hunting in the Dakotas and having the time of his life.

Fowler also placed 4th in junior and Qualifying at Kap.

Star completed her first Open at Kap finishing with a CM. She is also still slowly working on her Grand Master. She has two more to go.

Tundra made it to the fourth series of the National, not as far as we hoped but he did work very well.

Now that its fall the dogs will be busy bringing in lots birds :0)

Tundra did a nice job today on the triple with an honour.

He is picking up the go bird, just a black dot in the center :0)
Land blind tomorrow for the fourth series, 47 dogs back.

Tundra and Chris had a good day today and is on to the third series tomorrow.

The first series was a triple with a long retired gun and the second series was a 375 yard blind.

Congrats to Tom and Fowler for getting four Master passes at only 20 months of age. Two at Horseshoe, one at Mountain Valley and the other at LOC.

Tundra also got a Master pass at LOC.

At the Niagara Field Trial Star received a CM in Qualifying and Fowler recieved a CM in Junior in his first trial.

Raven also passed her WCI at Mountain Valley's first WC test.

We had a great day on Friday at the St. Catharine's KC trial Tucker completed his Rally Excellent title with two class placements. Star completed her Rally Advanced title with a class placement.

We had a good weekend at the HDOC trials a couple of weeks ago. Tucker finished his Rally Advanced title with a 4th place and has two passes towards his Rally Excellent title.

Star finished her Rally novice title with a 2nd place and has one pass towards her Rally Advanced title.

Christmas day hunt

We are a little late posting this but we took Jade hunting Christmas morning. Her health hasn't been the best. She was diagnosed with cushings in June and has been struggling with the side effects since then. We wanted to make sure she got out for a bird as going out hunting means alot to her.

Now, doesn't she look like the happiest dog ever :0)

Chris Plouffe and I hit Rondeau today and had a great hunt with a very nice mixed bag of birds. Tundra enjoyed the day retrieving all the birds.

We just got back from a great week in the Soo partridge hunting. The dogs had a great time hunting from the bikes, sure saved alot of walking :0)

Tucker and I had a great weekend competing in Rally. He finished his novice title in three straight runs with a perfect score placing first and also a third and a fourth in class. I moved him up to advanced where he won his class again :0)

We made a seven hour drive to Pennsylvania in the beginning of June. Star finished her HR Championship in four straight trials! Tundra and Bell also received finished passes.

Belle got another Master pass at MVRTC, only a couple more to go!

And the best news Tundra and Chris finished their first Open Stake and recieved a CM.

Congrats again to Rob Wright and Storm on your 4th in Qual this past weekend at Pine Ridge. Great news!!

We headed down to Central Michigan this weekend and ran Tundra, Star, Belle and Reese in the HRC hunt test. It was a late ride home but well worth it we ran 4 dogs both days and came home with 8 ribbons 6 finished passes completeing Belle's HRCH and 2 started for Reese.

A Great Start to the 2010 Hunt Test Season

The B-Line crew had a good showing this weekend at the Essex HRC hunt test with 3 finished passes and 1 seasoned pass. Star, Belle and Tundra all met the standard for finished passes on Saturday and Casey ( B-Lines Little Miss Sunshine ) owned by Chris and Jodie Plouffe Handled by Chris.

Chris and Casey made short work of the seasoned set up's. You guys are realy starting to work well together keep up the good work.

We Are hoping to keep the ball rolling and head down to the fall grand in Georgia this fall.

The Sportsman Show was a pretty good success for us this year. Tundra on his qualifying night placed second and placed 4th overall in the finals and competed against some really nice talented dogs.

Black Forest Rogue, WCX 1996 - 2010

We wanted to take a minute to let you know of the passing of Rogue. He won't be remembered as one of the greats but he was a dog that had a big kind heart and caught our eye the first time we met him. He was the sire of our very first litter and is the father of our Star.

He impressed us years ago when we watched him being handled by a 10 year old boy that lost his father, to his WC, WCI and WCX in three straight trials and had an open win at Niagra. Llyod his owner was kind enough to let us compete with Rogue in Master and in field trials as our dogs were not at that level yet. He also placed in a Super retreiver series at the Royal Winter Fair. We were only able to put 2 Master passes on him as he was 8 years old when we started and he told us the next spring that he wanted to retire. From him we learned alot about handling & competing in trials, he was a gentleman, a great hunting dog and he will be missed.

We had a chance to get out with Cam Brownson of Angler & Hunter TV, It took all day before the birds finally started to move but in the end we harvested 10 geese and 6 ducks and hopefully got enough film for an episode.

It should air some time in May.

New Title for Star!

On November 29th Star earned her third tracking title, one of the hard ones, her Urban Tracking Dog or UTD. This involves tracking on variable surfaces, such as concrete, ashphalt, gravel or sand as well as grass. These areas tend to be more contaminated with more scents to sort through of other people, cars or dogs going over your track.

We are very proud of Star!

She is now HR B-Line's Supernova, CGN, CD, WCX, MH, TDX, UTD QAA

We got an e-mail from an owner of one of our pups from our Belle/Tucker litter that will be turning 3 years in January. Robb bought Timber as a hunting companion and so far he has picked up 26 birds for him this fall. We love to hear these stories because that is what it is all about, breeding Labs to do what they were bred and love to do, bring home dinner :0)

Labrapalooza

We had a great time at the first ever Lab rescue fundraising event Labrapalooza. We did a field trial demonstration with our dogs Tundra and Star and answered training questions. Thanks to Joan of Lab rescue the event was a huge success. There was a leash free park with games the dogs could play. A customs agent did a demo with his dog searching our truck for pretend drugs. The was a cartoonist doing drawings of the dogs and a draw table and silent auction. The turn out was great and a good time was had by all but I think mostly the dogs :0)

Trip to the pond

Took the pups to a friend's pond this afternoon. They didn't get much swimming in, I think they found the water a bit cold but they had a blast eating the flowers. They turned 7 weeks today.

B-Line's Belle's Autumn Gale Steps it up!

When does a storm bring a smile to your face? Well today it did. B-Line's Belles Autumn Gale ( Storm ) Owned By Robert Wright Handled by Allan Hagerty (Dovetail Kennels) Recieved a cm in qualifying in Sault Ste Marie this weekend after running in Jr in Iron Bridge and bringing home the RCM. B-Line's Lake Effect Raider was also at Iron Bridge and recieved a cm. Great job guy's we hope you are enjoying these dogs as much as we are.

B-Line's Lake Effect Raider keeps on Running

Raider kept the consistency going this weekend finishing the Lab owners FT with a RCM they started with a 14 dog field and when the dust settled there were 5 left. This keeps Raider running at 100% completion rate and the Tests this year are the most challenging we have seen in a few years in the JR circuit. Thanks to everyone who stuck it out in the severe rain to finish the trial.

We want to congradulate Rob Wright and storm for thier 4th at NORA( handled by Allan Hagerty) also RCM going to Marc Comtois and Ace and the two cm's Artemis and Raider Brought home in the field of 19 dogs. This puts Ace, Artemis and Raider at a 100% completion rate for the year in JR Field Trials something we are very proud of. Great work Guys keep it up!

The weekend started out rainy & crappy but the B-Line Labs didn't mind. Litter mates Diver and Star both brought home Master passes. This being Diver's first and Star's fourth.

The thing we can say about Raider, is that he is very consistent :0) He placed 4th in the Junior stake at the Pineridge Trial today with a larger field than at the trials he has run so far this year.

Also Raider's sister Artemis recieved two seasoned passes this weekend at the Kingston area HRC club's hunt test handled by her owner Ron Gill. Way to go guys!

Yes, we are still here! We've been keeping busy with the dogs, training and work. Since December we have fostered 2 Labs for Lab rescue and both have found forever homes.

We want to congratulate a couple of B-Line pups that ran in Horseshoe's sanctioned field trial this past April. Ron Gill & Artemis (B-Line to the Bird Boy) won the Junior Stake and Marc & Ace (B-Line's Royal Flush) placed 2nd. Chris and Tundra also received a RCM in the Open.

Chris and Jodie with Casey (B-Line's Little Miss Sunshine) also had a great weekend down south finishing her HRC Started Hunter Retriever Title.

On the homefront our male Raider (B-Line Lake Effect Raider) placed 4th in the Junior at the Niagara RTC trial on May 5th!
